Philidelphia: Woman found guilty of Goth kitten piercing case
" A Luzerne County jury sent a clear message to anyone thinking of piercing an animal as a bizarre fashion statement. The jury convicted a 35-year-old dog groomer Holly Crawford of two counts of animal cruelty for piercing the ears and necks of kittens and selling them as "Gothic" accessories on the Internet... "
West Hollywood bans sale of pets in stores!
The city of West Hollywood is just one step away from implementing a ban on the sale of pets from puppy and kitten mills in pet stores. The ordinance will support local small breeders and shelters as well as the welfare of the animals in the area. West Hollywood has pioneered legislation along these lines before when it became the first municipality to ban declawing procedures- a policy which has been adopted in several other California cities since. Groups offer temporary homes to military pets
"When Maj. Randall Baucom received word that the Army was sending him to Iraq in 2006, he immediately began to worry about what he woulddo with his two mixed-breed dogs Buster and Little Girl, a 70-pound male and a 40-pound female, were about a year old and a bit rambunctious, said Baucom, who was stationed at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas..."

Garlic is on the list of toxic foods that cats and dogs should not consume. It is also listed as an ingredient in some dog foods and recipes for homemade dog food. So why is it incorporated in so many pet foods if it is toxic?
